The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Extreme southeastern Kansas

  Southwestern and south central Missouri



* Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 650 PM

  until 100 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Merging clusters of storms should persist through late

evening/early overnight across parts of central/southern Missouri.

The primary threat will be damaging outflow winds, though isolated

large hail will also be possible this evening with the strongest

embedded storms.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 80

statute miles east and west of a line from 60 miles west northwest

of Fort Leonard Wood MO to 50 miles east southeast of Monett MO. For

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
