The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeast Kansas

  Northwest Missouri



* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 350 PM until

  900 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter likely

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...At least isolated severe thunderstorms are expected to

develop generally east-southeastward across the region through the

afternoon. Large hail and locally damaging winds can be expected

with the more intense storms.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 30

statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles west northwest

of Manhattan KS to 10 miles east southeast of Saint Joseph MO. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
