The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central and northern Florida

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Saturday morning from 345 AM until 1100 AM EST.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Somewhat-organized thunderstorms are expected to move

ashore from the Gulf during the next several hours, into a

moistening and destabilizing air mass across the central peninsula

and parts of north-central/northeastern FL.  Damaging gusts are the

main concern but a tornado cannot be ruled out.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles either side of a line from 20 miles west southwest of

Saint Petersburg FL to 25 miles east southeast of Daytona Beach FL.

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A few
