The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  South-central Texas



* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 1240 PM until

  800 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3

    inches in diameter possible

  Isolated significant damaging wind gusts to 75 mph possible



SUMMARY...Multiple supercells will likely evolve southeast along and

ahead of a progressive cold front this afternoon. Large hail is the

primary hazard, along with isolated severe wind gusts.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles north and south of a line from 10 miles south

southwest of Del Rio TX to 65 miles east of New Braunfels TX. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
