The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Parts of west central and northwest Texas



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 545 PM until

  1100 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorm development is expected soon along a dryline

from roughly San Angelo northward to near Childress.  The storm

environment east of the dryline appears supportive of high-based

thunderstorms, with a mix of multicell clusters and some supercell

structures.  Occasional large hail and damaging outflow winds will

be the main concerns through late evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 35

statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles northwest of

Childress TX to 35 miles south southwest of San Angelo TX. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
