The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northern New York

  Vermont



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 210 PM until

  900 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Scattered thunderstorm development is expected this

afternoon in advance of a cold front approaching the Saint Lawrence

Valley.  A mix of supercells and line segments is expected, with a

primary threat for damaging winds before the storms weaken by late

evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles north and south of a line from 45 miles west southwest

of Saranac Lake NY to 30 miles east of Montpelier VT. For a complete
