The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Eastern Kansas

  Northwest to west-central Missouri



* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 1230 PM until

  700 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 85

    mph likely

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Cluster of strong to severe storms is expected to

intensify through at least late afternoon. Large hail will be most

likely with updrafts along the southwest flank of the cluster.

Damaging wind gusts are expected to be the primary hazard.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles north and south of a line from 25 miles south of

Chillicothe MO to 50 miles west of Emporia KS. For a complete
