This chart shows 4 inch soil temperatures (black) and daily solar radation (red) for the Ames ISUAG site. Any ideas why the black line shows warming between 29 Nov and 3 Dec with a flat line afterwards? On 3 Dec Ames picked up 6 inches of snow and it has yet to melt. The snow on the ground acts as a blanket which moderates soil temperatures.
