Shown is an image from Greene County on Tuesday afternoon. Most people would recognize the hook echo shown on RADAR. Not all hook echos on RADAR turn into tornadoes on the ground. While tornadoes did not materialize yesterday, high winds and heavy rainfall did. The heaviest rain fell south of Des Moines toward the Missouri border.
