Much of the state received much needed rainfall in the past week, but some of the driest locations in southeastern and northwestern Iowa missed out on the heaviest totals. The rainfall on Thursday was accompanied by damaging winds with Des Moines and suburbs experiencing considerable tree damage. The forecast has the dry weather returning with pleasant fall conditions.
