Full sunshine returned to much of the state on Wednesday. This was very welcome as our recent weather has seen plenty of clouds. The featured chart displays the daily radiation totals from the Ames ISU Soil Moisture station with the black line representing an approximate daily maximum. Even while there are no visible clouds in the sky, smaller particles scatter some of the sun's energy and after all, there is a reason why the sky is blue!
